Regardless of your age and background, you are welcome at Pepperpots!
How to become a member
If you'd like to get involved with our in-house productions, you will need to become a member. The process for becoming a member is simple, first get in touch with us using the form below, enter an e-mail address, or phone number we can contact you, and feel free to let us know a bit about yourself. We will then get back to you to let you know more details about what we are currently up to, and let you know how and when you can get involved. Most of our members get involved by joining us as a performer, so we will generally invite you to the next audition where you can go for either a speaking or chorus role. Not everyone gets a speaking role the first time but there is no need to feel dis-heartened, chorus members have a great time taking part in the shows and really hold the productions together. At this point, if you decide Pepperpots is for you, and you'd like to become a full member. You will be asked to pay a yearly fee of £10, which covers the admin stuff like insurance and licenses.
And that's it, you'll be a full member, from there you can go on to join in with our performances, events and activities, or even join our committee.
If you are more technically minded, you could take part by helping to design and operate sound and lighting.
Lighting can be hugely beneficial to a performance, helping to develop and strengthen an atmosphere.
Sound is also essential to a show, a perfect balance needs to be found between sound effects, microphones and music.
Most of our members join so that they can perform on stage in one of our productions. You will need to audition for a role, but almost 100% of people that come along are given a role in the chorus, which is a great way to start out. Don't be disheartened if you don't get a speaking role the first time, the chorus holds the show together and is great fun!
In order to look the part, and stand out on stage, actors need well-thought out hair styles and make up, that are appropriate to the theme and context of the show.
You can design the make-up on paper and help to apply it for shows and dress runs.
If you are more into art and textiles, costume design and making might be right up your alley.
All of our productions require unique and creative costumes to help develop a character, and build a world on-stage.
You could play a part by designing costumes, sourcing materials, and even making the costumes.
The above are just a few of the ways you can be involved, if you have another talent you could bring to our group, please reach out and let us know!
You could also find yourself helping with front of house tasks such as catering, welcoming audience members, selling raffle tickets, you may help choreograph dance and movement scenes, help design and build scenery, and maybe even direct your own performance.
If you're not able to join us a member, but want to keep up to date with our productions and activities, consider supporting us by becoming a patron. As a patron, you will receive a letter from our patron's secretary providing details about upcoming shows and inviting you to book priority tickets before they are released to the general public. You will also receive a free programme for each show you attend, in which you will find your name printed. The minimum subscription fee is £6.00.
If you represent a business, you could support us by offering sponsorship.
